DUE TO THE NATURE AND AREA OF THIS MINISTRY, OUR DESCRIPTION BELOW IS SOMEWHAT VAGUE IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE NAMES, FAMILIES, AND MINISTRY OF THOSE SERVING IN EASTERN EUROPE.
D and his family have spent over 10 years in Eastern Europe. His work in Bosnia focuses on short-term teams and equipping missionaries who live all over Bosnia. In conjunction with this work, He lives and teaches in Frankfurt, Germany, traveling annually to Bosnia.
The Weidmans have been serving in Nicaragua since 2010 when they first got involved through their church in Indiana by going on mission trips to the town of Masatepe. After going on four trips, they decided to plunge into the deep end of poverty alleviation and moved to Masatepe in 2011.
From 2012 to 2018 they lived and served full-time in Nicaragua establishing several core ministries as well as assembling a team of local changemakers who care deeply about seeing transformation happen in their own backyard.
They now live back in the US with their three children (soon to be four) and continue to oversee the work in Nicaragua from afar, while their team of over 30 local staff continues to tirelessly serve the community.
Their organization, One Collective, serves over 40 oppressed communities across the globe and they cherish the opportunity to work vocationally in a way that allows them to see the ways of Jesus taking hold in such a diversity of contexts.
Keith and Lisa Coggin, originally from Mobile, Alabama, have been involved in overseas missions for almost 3 decades, including short term trips to Central America, Ukraine, India and Africa. In 2002, they began a full-time mission to Uganda following God's call on their lives.
For the last 15 years they began developing a Biblical, Christ-centered school curriculum called "Roots to Fruits" Christian curriculum, which teaches comprehension and long-term problem-solving skills while helping to develop a Biblical worldview.
Currently Keith and Lisa are continuing this work from the United States.
Mars Hill Church has an ongoing partnership with ministries in Masatepe involving a cafe, addiction rehabilitation center, and a farm.
Millions of children around the world die within their first year of life due to a lack of resources, delivery complications, malnutrition, and preventable diseases. This should not be happening! Compassion's Survival initiative focuses on promoting the development and survival of the most vulnerable babies while also providing education and support for the mother or primary caregiver, all through the local church.
