Embrace Grace: Week 4

This past week at Embrace Grace, we showered another Mama with lots of diapers, clothes, and a brand-new car seat stroller combo. THANK YOU to the kind person who donated that from our wishlist! Mama R’s sweet baby boy was born a month ago at 31 weeks and is still in the NICU. He is doing great! Mama R was gifted a room at the Ronald McDonald house so she could visit her baby during every moment of visiting hours. A Mars Hill Mama donated a bassinet and swing and those went to this Mama as well. She feels all setup! Entering motherhood with confidence and peace of mind is such a gift that our church is giving these women. Her boyfriend is currently incarcerated but is expected to be released in a few months and we are all so excited for him to get to hold his first child. He used to come to EG so we got to know and love him. We can’t wait to see him soon. Please pray for this couple as they transition into parenthood together. Their situation is complicated, but God’s love for them is not!

During our devotional time, we talked about a strategy to engage our children in spiritual conversations using picture circles. In small groups, everyone practiced this strategy by sharing themselves. One Mama was very vulnerable and shared intrusive thoughts of hopelessness and two of our Mars Hill Mamas were able to share the gospel with her. Please pray for Mama A that she will turn to Jesus when her mind takes her down dark paths. Please also pray for Mars Hill volunteers as we walk through this with her. We need discernment so badly, in handling all of our EG Families, but particularly this woman, her son, and the baby girl she is carrying.

One last note, I want to make a point to say how abundantly grateful I am for the volunteers who are showing up. This ministry is not possible without them! We are in great need every week for childcare workers. We weren’t able to have a room for the toddlers/babies this past week. Please e-mail me at tricia@pomh.org if there is a Thursday you can give us a hand. We could really use it!
